Back for our ninth year and thanks to Arts Council England Big Lottery funding we have a super extended programme of events to bring some creative winter warmth joy to our local community and for our many visitors who come to town to take part in our events. We welcome you all!
We are proud to be working with some new partners for the first time as well as our longstanding supportive friends and this is what keeps our festival fresh and innovative – it’s what keeps our heart beating and sparks the magic year after year.
Our ethos is about supporting artists to develop projects that will help sustain their career in these tough and troubling times for musicians, writers and the supporting industries due to the declining financial situation and the advances of generative technology and the funding from Arts Council England, our amazing sponsors and to everyone who buys a ticket or makes a donation to our events helps keep the arts alive through true creative connections.
Our emphasis is on inclusion, and we are able to offer a balance of free and funded events as well as valuing our artists and industry professionals by paying them a fair pay and that means charging a fair ticket price.
Leading up to our signature main event – the three-day songwriting retreat taking place at the beautiful grand Burlington Hotel in the West End, we have a host of talks, community singing and songwriting, storytelling, wellbeing activities, open stages and bringing in seasoned pros to help artists develop their creative practice.
Have a look at the Events section and see what we have on offer, and we hope to see you at something somewhere sometime.

The founder and host of FSF! Lorraine Lucas is a well established singer/songwriter and recording artist, and looks forward to welcoming you!
