We are proud to welcome our first Transatlantic artist to our music club courtesy of our mutual friend Miranda Mulholland from Roaring Girl Records the extraordinary Dana Sipos.
Acclaimed Canadian songwriter Dana Sipos coaxes silkworms out of their cocoons and spins them into song. She inhabited the far north before going nomad and her captivatingly nuanced songs are filled with a wild wind and a haunting surrealism. She now resides among the old growth of Vancouver Island, British Columbia and sets the stage for a deeply moving performance with earthen imagery, rich spiralling vocals, and textured instrumentation.
A consummate performer, Sipos has brought her cosmic folk to living rooms, concert halls and festivals stages across North America, Europe and Australia. With a new collection of captivating songs that hold the complexity of the human experience up to the light, her new album ‘Golden Molten’ will be released in 2025. Sipos will be joined by Justin Wright on cello and flautist Lina Andronovska (for select dates), playing well worn tunes and new songs from the album on her UK spring tour.
Support from Diane Dunn.
Singer songwriter Diane Dunn needs no introduction to Kent music lovers as she is a prolific performer as a solo artist and as part of her many carnations as Diane Dunn Trio and as a singer with Northern Soul/Ska supergroup The Altones touring across the South East of England and Europe.
An engaging performer, her witty observational autobiographical lyrics are accompanied by her solid guitar work.
This night will be a real treat, and tickets are limited to 30 so be quick.
