About Scholarships
Folkestone Songwriting Festival Scholarships are funds that have been donated/sponsored by individuals or organisations. They are designed to assist those from under-represented groups or those who would otherwise find it difficult to attend due to financial or social disadvantage.
The ethos of Folkestone Songwriting Festival is to foster inclusion and accessibility to the local, national and international creative community irrespective of background.
Remember, you don’t have to be a folky hipster songwriter to apply. We’d love to hear from those that are writing in jazz, theatre, rock, alternative classical, rap, country genres etc
This year we have three scholarships available:
- 1 Full Residential
- 2 Non Residential

About Scholarships Thanks to the continual support from our sponsors and scholarship benefactors and their continual belief in our mission to make the songwriting and wider events and projects as inclusive and accessible to the widest reach locally and nationally, we are proud to be in a position to offer full and part funded spaces for budding artists who may not otherwise be able to attend. Please let us know why you feel you would benefit from a scholarship and a bit about your experience and any access needs you may have so we know how to make your experience as best as it can be.
