Songsense – songwriting workshop for men

Songsense - a weekend songwriting workshop for men

led by Neil Bob Herd and Pete Astor

There is something mystical and magical, often beyond words, how a particular song can speak to us whether lyrically or instrumentally.

This workshop designed by men for men. Songwriters, musicians and teachers, Pete Astor ( The Loft/The Weather Prophets) and Neil Bob Herd (The Coal Porters and many others) is intended to gently lean into worthwhile discussions about themes that matter and how songwriting can be a useful way of communication and expression,

Whilst not intended to be a therapy group, past attendees have fed back that they generally leave feeling better within themselves and that they have connected  with other like minded men on some level as well as taking away a new song or feeling encouraged to write more especially when the day to day demands of life can sap creative energy. It is a space to remember why you love music – making it – or talking about it – and that can be a great thing in itself.

This special two-day event will cover the above in day one and will finish with an afternoon gig on Sunday afternoon where you can step up and perform or just sit back and enjoy the music.
